The Collaboration (Requests and Documents Only) engagement type is a lightweight alternative to Fieldguide's full engagement workflow, for work centered on collecting and organizing client documents rather than running a structured audit. It's a good fit for engagements Fieldguide doesn't otherwise support natively, like Excel-based work, or migrating a client off a separate request-and-document tool, while still giving your firm and your client a single, centralized place to manage requests and files.

A Collaboration engagement only includes three tabs: Dashboard, Requests, and Documents. Sheets, Reports, and Forms aren't available on this engagement type.

What's included
Dashboard: track the engagement's progress. See Using the engagement dashboard.
Requests: create, assign, and track requests for client documents, the same as on any other engagement type. See Managing requests. Requests on a Collaboration engagement can still sync with Vanta, the same as on other engagement types.
Documents: upload, organize, and share files with your client. See Upload a document to an engagement.

Create a Collaboration engagement
To create a Collaboration engagement, follow the steps in Create an engagement and select Collaboration (Requests and Documents Only) as the engagement Type. Type selection is only available when creating an engagement from scratch. An engagement created from a template inherits its type from the template instead.
