Overview
Admins can add standard financial statement templates for firm-wide use. Templates help users quickly create common financial statement types in any engagement.
View and manage your firm's financial statement templates under Settings > Templates > Financial Statements.
How it works
Financial statement templates can be configured to contain section headers, line items, and linked firm accounts. Templates are available as an option for users to select when adding a financial statement to an engagement. Admins can add and manage templates.
A financial statement template must be connected to a specific framework (chart of accounts). Different frameworks may be designed for different purposes, such as industry or company type (e.g. construction companies, education, etc). This framework (also called a "mapping framework") acts as the foundation that you'll build your financial statement template on top of.
Create a financial statement template
By default, your financial statement template will follow the layout of the linked framework. You can customize the template, as needed:
Add, remove, or change section headers.
Add, remove, or move line items.
Add or change the firm accounts linked to statement line items.
While you can map firm accounts to statement line items in a template, you won't be able to map client accounts to firm accounts in a template—client account mappings can only be set inside active engagements.
