Overview
Rows can be grouped together in your sheet based on the contents of a column. Once a group is created, you can calculate a vertical sum or average.
Group rows
Choose the column you want to group by and drag it to the top margin of your sheet.
Add a vertical sum or average
Hover over the column. Click Aggregation and choose the desired formula from the dropdown menu.
You must first create a group in order to add a vertical formula. If you don’t have a category you’d like to group by, create a new column with no data and use that column for your group.
Save settings
To save your group and formula settings, create a view in your sheet. You can create multiple views, if needed.
