Agent trigger types

Options for agent trigger configurations

Agent trigger configurations support different trigger types. Each type corresponds to a different event that can automatically start a testing agent run. To configure which agent runs when a trigger fires, see Configure agent trigger settings.

On Document Upload

The On Document Upload trigger fires when a document is added to a sheet's documents column. This includes documents uploaded directly to the column and documents that are auto-copied there when a client uploads to a linked request.

Documents uploaded to a request that's already in Complete status don't auto-copy to the Documents column, so the trigger won't fire for them. To work around this, move the request back to Ready for Review before uploading, then mark it Complete again.

If you normally keep auto-copy disabled, documents uploaded to a request stay at the request level and never reach the Documents column unless you manually copy them over. The On Request Document Upload trigger is available as an alternative — contact Fieldguide support to have it enabled.

On Request Status Change

The On Request Status Change trigger fires when a linked request enters Ready for Review, regardless of its prior status.

The trigger requires both of the following:

  • All requests linked to the row are in Ready for Review or Complete — a single Open request blocks the row

  • At least one document is on the row

If your firm's workflow marks requests directly Complete without passing through Ready for Review, this trigger never fires.
