Move a document

Change which folder a document is stored in

Documents in Fieldguide can be stored in folders for organization. If needed, you can move a document to a different folder.

Move a document

  1. Go to the folder that currently contains your document(s).

  2. Select the document(s) you’d like to move. Then, click the Move button at the top. Or, you can right-click a single document and click Move.

  3. Select a folder to move the document(s) to and click Choose Folder.

Troubleshooting

The folder I need to move the document to doesn’t exist

If you're moving a document to a different sheet row, it’s helpful to keep in mind that you are moving it from one Documents folder to another rather than simply one cell to another.

If the folder that you would like to move it to does not appear inside your Sheet Documents folder, this means that row doesn’t have a folder attached to it yet. Before moving the document, you’ll need to create a folder and link it to that sheet row.
