Overview
Milestones are a customizable checklist of key events in an engagement used to track its progress. You can set due dates and assign milestones to firm users to keep your engagements on track. Milestones are located on the Dashboard tab of your engagement.
Permissions
In order to see milestones, users must have access to the engagement. Permissions for milestones vary depending on the user’s role. Firm members permissions vary based on the engagement-level permission assigned to them in the Access tab of the engagement settings (which can be "full access" or another custom engagement permission). Refer to the table below for details.

Note: By default, clients have no access to milestones. View-only permission can be given to clients in the milestone editor.
Create or edit milestones
Milestones can be added to a client’s engagement or to an engagement template. Modifying milestones in an engagement template will not change milestones in existing engagements.
To create or edit milestones, open your engagement or template. Navigate to: Dashboard > Milestones > Set up Milestone. Fill out the details for each Milestone in the editor:

Note: Asterisks indicate milestone fields that cannot be filled in an engagement template. These fields can be filled in a client’s engagement after it has been created.
Click Add milestone to add additional lines. Reorder milestones by holding your cursor and dragging to the new position. Delete milestones by opening the 3-dots menu on the right and selecting Delete. Click Save milestones when finished editing.
Using milestones
Milestones indicate important points in your engagement’s progress. To view milestones, open your engagement and navigate to the Dashboard.
Firm users can click the checkbox next to a milestone to mark it as complete (or incomplete, if already checked). If an incomplete milestone’s due date has occurred, an exclamation icon ❗ will be shown.
