Support user accounts

Support user accounts can be used for testing and demonstration purposes.

Overview

Support user accounts are designed to be used by firm users to see Fieldguide from another user's perspective. Support user accounts are created per company, and can be used to create both firm and client type accounts.

Create a support user account

Support user accounts can be added under the Settings menu. Open the Users tab and click the +Support User button. Complete all fields and save to create the user.

The support user account will be displayed the same way as real user accounts inside Fieldguide. The first and last name you set on a support user account may appear to other users (e.g. in the @mentions of comments and tasks), so you should avoid using your (or any other person’s) real name to prevent confusion. Instead, consider setting the name to something like “Test Account” or “Jane Test”.

To create a firm member support user, select your firm's name under the Client menu (instead of a client company).

Logging in

To log in as a Support User, go to the list of Users, select the Support User, then select the Sign In button at the top of the screen.

Logging out

To exit a support user account and return to your firm account, select the profile icon in the bottom left corner and select Exit Account.

Use cases

  • Use to verify what access a client user has been granted before you provide the client's access. This can give you reassurance that you've provided the right access.

  • Use as a training tool when kicking off a new client. You can show the client exactly what they will see in Fieldguide and provide a relevant training experience.

  • Use as an internal training tool to show new firm users what the client experience will be like.
