How do I complete the Engagement Setup in Fieldguide?

  1. Enter the Engagement name. We recommend including the year in the name, e.g. 20XX SOC 2 Type II

  2. Select the Engagement Status as In Progress if you are going to immediately begin the engagement; otherwise, leave at Pending.

  3. Enter the Engagement beginning and ending dates (optional).

  4. Select the Sheet Template to use on this engagement. If you do not choose a Sheet Template, you'll have to

  5. Select the Company this Engagement is for

  6. Determine whether or not to automatically add controls.

    1. If you are going to import data from a spreadsheet, there's no need to check "Automatically add this company's controls to the Sheet".

    2. This feature is designed for clients who undergo readiness on Fieldguide and have controls on Fieldguide. For these clients, you can check this box to automatically pull their controls into the Engagement.

  7. Choose who in your firm will be the Firm Lead on the Engagement

  8. Choose who in the client's organization will be the Client Owner. This can be added later, if needed.

  9. Click Create Engagement.

Possible Next Steps

  • Assign firm members, and possibly admins, to the engagement via Engagement Settings.

  • Import Sheets (including controls), Requests, and/or Tasks

  • You can also navigate to the Engagement Settings to change any of the above fields from the Engagement Setup screen.
