Overview
The Team Productivity dashboard is designed to help leaders better understand the productivity of their teams.
Productivity is represented as preparer control row signoffs per preparer hour, because preparer activity tends to represent the majority of hours in an engagement. This metric shows leaders how many controls a preparer completes per hour.
How it works
Productivity metrics are reported for all completed and archived engagements. Incomplete engagements are excluded from reporting to prevent skewed results due to normal variations in time and activity through the engagement lifecycle. Once an engagement is completed, all productivity will become available in the dashboard after the data is processed (typically within the next hour).
This dashboard includes multiple ways to analyze productivity. There are charts and filters by service line, team member, billing level, client, and engagement, because we understand that leaders may need to analyze the data from multiple angles to derive the appropriate insights and actions.
Fieldguide applies some light data normalization techniques that remove outliers and improve the utility of the dashboards. To remove outliers, we calculate the control completion rate by team member and by engagement. Then, we use the interquartile range (or IQR), which looks at the 25th and 75th percentiles, to remove the outliers.
