Add billing hours and track engagement budgets

Overview

Add firm billing rates, user levels, and engagement budgets directly in Fieldguide. This data, combined with Fieldguide's automated time capture, gives you daily visibility to engagement budget performance across your teams.

Time and budget insights is a premium feature available to firms with an Enterprise subscription. For more information, contact [email protected].

How it works

  1. Set your firm's rates for each billing level and assign them to users. Billing levels represent types of staff, such as partner, manager, and associate.

  2. In your engagements' settings, choose how many budgeted hours are available for each billing level.

  3. Keep track of your firm's budgeted hours across engagements using Fieldguide Insights.

Set up billing levels and rates

Billing levels represent the billing rate for different types of staff (such as partner, manager, and associate). View and manage billing levels and rates under Settings > Admin > Billing Rates.

Click +Billing Rate to add a new billing level and rate. You can add, edit, and delete billing levels from this menu.

Assign billing levels to users

Billing levels represent the billing rate for different types of staff (such as partner, manager, and associate). You can assign a billing level to a user in their user settings. Or, set user billing levels in bulk in the Billing Rates menu under Set Billing Levels.

Set an engagement's budgeted hours

Set budgeted hours for an engagement in the engagement's Settings > Budget Planning.

Make sure each staff member on this engagement has a billing level assigned.

View time and budget insights under Insights > Engagement Insights.
